Silicone product FAQ

How much Silicone Cream do I need to use at any one time?
Silgel® should be used sparingly as a small amount can be massaged well over the affected area.

How quickly does silicone cream take to dry?
If used as recommended as above, Silgel® should dry in a matter of minutes.

Is Silgel® visible?
When applied as directed, Silgel® creates a thin protective barrier that is almost invisible.

Can I cover Silgel® with cosmetics?
Once dry, cosmetics may be applied and can be used to further enhance the aesthetic appearance.

For how long does Silgel® sheet last?
Used as directed, Silgel® sheet can be expected to last for several weeks.

How often should I wash Silgel® sheet?
Silgel® sheet should be washed at least on a daily basis with a mild soap solution. It should be rinsed well and dried by shaking the sheet and then patting dry with a smooth fabric cloth before reapplying.

Do I need to use adhesive tape or bandage to secure the Silgel® sheet?
Although there is no adhesive layer on the Silgel® Sheet, it has an inherent adhesivity which provides a good 'cling' property to the skin. However, you may need to stabilize and secure the sheet in position with a
strip of hypoallergenic tape.

How long will it take before I see an improvement to my scar?
Scar management can vary depending upon the person and scar. While some improvement might be observed within days of using Silgel® sheet and cream, the best results are often achieved during
a period of 2 - 4 months, although this can sometimes be much longer.

How soon can I use Silgel™ sheet or Silgel® after scarring?
Silgel® sheet or Silgel® can be used on any old or new closed wound. Do not use on
an open or infected wound, scab or stitches.
