HANS BIOMED Corporation was started in 1993 by Ho Chan
Hwang in the name of Hans medical Co. with a view to be a leading medical provider.
The product line introduced in the first year consisted of garments for burn
treatment, lipo-suction, post-operative and silicone
polymer products of
breast implant, tissue expander, facial implant..etc. With the outstanding
success in domestic market of medical industry, Hans medical Co. changed its name
to HANS BIOMED
Corporation in 1999 and set research institutes, HITE(Hans
Institite of Tissue Engieering) & HDI(Hans Daeduk Institite),
and invested 1.2 million US dollars to develop the high quality products of human
tissue engineering and diverse biotechnological fields on the purpose of getting
move to international markets and attaining equal success with domestic market.
As a result of intensive R & D with cooperation of animal cell engineering
lab in bioengineering department of KAIST(Korea Advance Institute
of Science and Technology) and tissue bank, HANS BIOMED made success in developing
and manufacturing human tissue
for implantation, SureDerm™ , which is
applicable to damaged tissue by burn, traffic accidents, natural deforms as well
as replacement of soft tissue.
HANS BIOMED also developed Sheba™, micronized
SureDerm™, injectable implant for correction of wrinkles and dents on the
face as aesthetic purpose.
At present time, HANS BIOMED has branches
in Tokyo, Japan and Shanghai, China and sustained sales and earnings and expands
its business to Dermatology, Orthopedics, Urology and Dentistry and more.
| With the prominent achievement of human tissue
engineering, HANS BIOMED won the authentication as a prestigious venture company
from center of evaluation Technology and Competitiveness, COTAC of KAIST in April,
2000. Continuously HANS BIOMED was selected one of the best 100 venture enterprises
in biotechnology by Korean economic newspaper's report. | |
